The Temple of Abu Simbel was dedicated to the ancient Egyptian god Amun Ra and Harmakis (The god of the rise and the dawn of the sun). The facade consists of four statues all of the Pharaoh, the two temples were damaged in many parts, the two Temples were rebuilt again at a site 65 meters above the original site, to prevent the height of the water. This major rescue operation began in June 1964 and ended in September 1968.
