BAB AL FUTUH

Bab al-Futuh, in English, means “The Conquests door “, named for the army that was leaving the capital to conquest, Jawhar al- Saqlabi was the who ordered the construction of this doors to during his time in 969 A.D. It has enchanting motifs, and it is also dotted with arrow cracks, and it has openings to pour boiling liquids through on creeping enemies, and in ancient times it passed through this gate many convoys of pilgrims who came every year from Mecca to pass through this gate then head to the castle.

 

 

 

The door was built in 1087; Prince Badr al-Jamali repaired it and placed it in its current place at the entrance to Al-Mu’iz Street, so with White Bird Travel you will explore one of the most beautiful architecture and decorations in Al-Futuh Door.
