The Temple of Dandara was very important to the ancient Egyptian, because it was the first place of shrines and chapels since the beginning of the ancient Egyptian era and the first structure in the complex was built by Pepi I around 2250 BC, the complex consisting of the Holy Lake, the Temple of Hathor, which is the main temple and was also called the Temple of Tierra, as well as the mammisi of King Nectanebo II, Temple of the birth of Isis, the Barque shrine, Trajan and the Roman Kiosk, the Roman mammisi, the sanatorium and some additional elements added in Roman times, and this temple is one of the best preserved Egyptian temples.
