OM KALTHOUM MUSEUM

Enjoy the time of high art by visiting Om Kalthoum Museum Located near the Nilometer in the garden of Manasterly Palace in Rawda Island in Giza governorate, its name derives from the most famous Egyptian female singer in the Middle East, Umm Kulthum, who was known for her pure, strong and amazing voice, so the Arab called her “Kawkab El Sharq” which means Star East.

 


Born in Egypt in 1904, Umm Kulthum was also regarded as the world's most strong and beautiful voice during the twentieth century, so they built a small and wonderful museum for her to highlight her wonderful songs and works. You’ll also find many performance outfits that belonged to her, especially her trademark black scarf and glasses, which she was very famous for wearing at every show, moreover there are some original handwritten lyrics to Laylat Hob famous song and you'll see a documentary about her parties and funeral.
