Sulayman Pasha Mosque

Discover the first Mosque that built under the Ottoman rule is Suleiman Pasha Mosque, it is the most wonderful Mosque in Cairo, originally constructed in 1528, and it is a unit of Ottoman armies that entered Egypt in 922 AH /1517 with Sultan Salim I and resided inside the northern fences of the castle. 

 

The ruler of Egypt in that period was the Ottoman Sultan Suleiman Pasha, and the mosque was built near the northern side of the Citadel of Saladin.

 

The Suleiman Pasha Mosque is the first sample of Ottoman architecture in the early 16th century, where the prayer hall in its distinctive t T-shaped form will be covered by a shallow central dome surrounded by 3 half domes.
