This castle is located at the entrance to the eastern part of Pharos Island, with a beautiful mosque inside, and the Qaitbay Castle remained in use until the Mamluk and Ottoman era, but they stopped using it after the English bombing of Alexandria in 1883, so it became neglected until the 20th century despite being restored and saved from damage several times by the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities.
