Mosque Of Ibn Tulun
Ibn Tulun mosque is located in a famous place in Cairo called Al Sayedah Zaynab. It was fully constructed in 879 AD on Mount Yashkor by Ahmed Ben Toulon, founder of the Tulunid Dynasty during 868 and 884 AD. It was only completed for about three years, with the third largest mosque in the world and the largest in Egypt.
Ahmed Ibn Tulun was born in Samarra in Iraq and grew up there so when he built the mosque it take the style of Samarra, It also included an open Sahn with a beautiful fountain to cool the air and has four Riwaqs as well as the larger Riwaq called the Qiblah Riwaq, the five Prayer Niches on the Qiblah side, the side that facing Mecca, and the two other Prayer Niches on the remaining sides.
