Museum Of Fine Arts
Alexandria, the city of art and the bride of the Mediterranean Sea with its beautiful buildings, and to complete this beauty it was a must to complete all this beauty with a museum to collect all the art pieces for the people to visit. The Museum of Fine Art, a building that was given to municipality of Alexandria by Baron de Menasha to be a museum to house the artistic pieces that was given as a gift by Edward Farid Heim which consisting of 210 pieces for international artists.
The Museum is located in Moharam Bek Street; the museum also has different collections. The collections are all unique and divided into three groups: first one is the collections that was owned by Edward Farid Heim, he was Jewish German who owned 210 paintings, second one was owned by Muhammad Mahmoud Khalil the former Agriculture Minister in 1937, he owned the orientalists paintings and gave the museum some as a gift as he owned 340 paintings which is displayed on the second floor in an independent hall. The third group is a gift also from the Modern Egyptian Museum of Art in Cairo.
