The colossi became famous in the roman period because it was said to sing. It is clear to everyone who witnessed it that the colossi suffered significant damage in its construction; Greek historians said that both statues sing with the time of sunrise. Theories pointed this to expansion of the stone when it was warmed by the sun in the morning and contractions in the evening or the wind reverberating through the cracks, it was restored by the Roman Emperor Semptimius Severus in 193-211 A.D. and corrected the fault and they have been silent ever since. And then during their visit to Egypt they wrote some of the phenomenon on the pedestal and leg of the statue, but there were a lot of people who felt weird when they read this phenomenon.
